A New Chapter…

So you may have noticed that I haven’t posted anything in a while. And that is because I have some exciting news…I am moving to a new site – ThisSavoryVegan.com

The name may give it all away, but to give you some background on this change, I have transitioned to a completely vegan diet. Yep, no meat, no dairy…basically nothing that comes from an animal. This change in my diet has given me a whole new perspective on food. And while this site has focused on a range of topics from style to DIYs to life in general, my passion has always been most heavily concentrated in food. I love trying new foods and creating original (and delicious) recipes for you.

So, what better way to combine my long time passion for creating tasty food and my new found passion for a vegan diet??? A new site, of course. And that is where This Savory Vegan was born. I am so excited to bring you new content – new recipes, videos and life updates.

Eating a vegan diet has pushed me to become even more creative with my cooking and as I go through this journey I want to share it with you. Even if you aren’t vegan, I would love for you to check out my new site. My style of cooking is the same, just some of the ingredients have changed.

Thank you to everyone who has been following me here and I hope to hear from you soon!

Creamy Vegan Ranch

This Creamy Vegan Ranch is perfect with pizza, chick’n fingers and chopped salad | EatStyleCreate.com

This Creamy Vegan Ranch is one of the easiest (and tastiest) dressings to make.

Ranch has always been one of my guilty pleasures – it just tastes so good on everything. So when I gave up dairy, I wanted to find a replacement that had the same flavors.

And while this is vegan, it still lands in the junk food section of vegan food – so don’t go dousing your salads with this 🙂

But even if you are on a plant based diet, you need to treat yo self from time to time.

Loaded Baked Fries with Cilantro Lime Dressing

These Loaded Baked Fries with Cilantro Lime Dressing are a perfect game day snack (Vegan) | EatStyleCreate.com

Earlier this week I showed you a Simple Cilantro Lime Dressing and I told you I would be bringing you a yummy snack to use with it.

And here it is…

Loaded Baked Fries with Cilantro Lime Dressing.

I am drooling right now just writing this post, wishing I had more of these fries right now.

Fries are seasoned and tossed in oil before going into the oven. Once they are done, they are salted before being topped with cilantro lime dressing, additional cilantro and fresh jalapeño.

And that’s just the starting point.

Simple Cilantro Lime Dressing

Cilantro Lime Dressing | EatStyleCreate.com

Today we are keeping it short and sweet.

This Simple Cilantro Lime dressing takes no time to put together but it packs SO MUCH FLAVOR!

Cilantro brings such an amazing flavor to any dish (so long as you aren’t one of those people who think it tastes like soap…poor souls).

This dressing has citrus from the lime juice, a bright freshness from the cilantro…and, oh…did I mention the creaminess comes from avocado???

Any excuse to use avocado, right?

Asian Chick’n Wrap with Spicy Tahini Sauce

This Asian Chick'n Wrap with Spicy Tahini Sauce is an easy vegan lunch | EatStyleCreate.com

I’ve been having a bit of a wrap obsession lately and this Asian Chick’n Wrap with Spicy Tahini Sauce is definitely my new favorite.

Faux chicken strips are sautéed with teriyaki sauce until they have a nice caramelized and crispy crust and then they are wrapped up with spring salad mix, sweet peppers, jalapeño and a spicy tahini sauce.

Yesterday marked the official first day of pre-season football which means the time for game day snacks is here!

And we are going start the season off with something yummy – Guacamole Stuffed Potato Skins with Vegan Chipotle Mayo.

This is like having chips and guac, nachos and wings all in one.

(No there’s no chicken, but that chipotle mayo gives it a spicy kick similar to wings)

And while we’re on the topic, let’s talk about this mayo.

Snarky Graphic Tees

Show off your personality with these Snarky Graphic Tees | EatStyleCreate.com
1. MISSGUIDED | 2. Sub_Urban Riot | 3. T&J Designs | 4. Cotton | 5. Ten Sixty Sherman

Sometimes you have no words and need to express yourself in another way – and these Snarky Graphic Tees do just that.

I have to say that graphic tees (in general), aren’t my style.

But every once in awhile, a t-shirt comes along and it just speaks to you.

I personally like to keep my graphic tees on the simple side. A white tee with a black graphic is what I am immediately drawn to. This allows you to dress up your tee with a colorful blazer or fun shoes without going over the top.

Whether it speaks your view on politics, religion or your love of brunch – there is a graphic tee for everyone.

Black Bean + Corn Guacamole

This Black Bean + Corn Guacamole is hearty and healthy! Vegan + Vegetarian | EatStyleCreate.com

I have to say that my avocado obsession has gotten pretty intense lately.

I don’t know if a day goes by that I don’t have avocado. Whether it is on my toast, on a chip or in my salad, I just can’t get enough.

Avocados have a mild flavor but an amazing texture. Plus they have tons of health benefits. Lots of “good” fat + fiber + potassium.

Does anyone else have an avocado obsession or is it just me?

Well, if you do have a hankering for the good green stuff, then try upping your guac game with this Black Bean + Corn Guacamole.
